John Franklin Yockey of Flippin, Arkansas, age 68, died November 20, 2022 at his home.
John was born in Lawton, Oklahoma June 26, 1954 to Charles Robert and Virginia Ruth Yockey. He was a resident of Russellville, Arkansas most of his life. John graduated from Russellville High School and Arkansas Tech earning a degree in geology. John was an aviation enthusiast. After earning his pilot's license he built his own Rutan designed Long-EZ aircraft. John loved the White River where he made his home. He cherished times fishing for trout with family and friends.
John is survived by his sister Michal Hall (Bill) of Delaware, brothers: Robert Yockey (Beth) of Greenbrier, and Walter Yockey (Terri) of Rogers. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date with a private family service.

My family has had many enjoyable visits with John over the past 4 years and always appreciated his love of nature and knowledge of geology . He was a dedicated "father" to Stump and we will miss them both terribly. We send sincere condolences to the family and pray for your peace and comfort.
