Alma Lou Colclasure Gibbs

of Cabot, AR

July 4, 1927 - November 23, 2022

Our lovely mother, Alma Lou Colclasure Gibbs, passed away from us on November 23, 2022 in Cabot, Arkansas at age 95. She was born in Lonoke County to Oscar Jefferson Moreland and Nellie Virginia Evans Moreland on the 4th of July, 1927. With her constant red hair, she was our family "Firecracker". She had a large loving family with one brother, two sisters, one half-brother and three half-sisters. She married Richard (Ed) Colclasure and had two children, Donna Colclasure Altwein and Richard (Rick) Colclasure. For many years she was the proud owner of Lou's Beauty Shop in Rose City and continued the work she loved until the age of 80. She loved her customers and friends. She had four Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren, who she loved and cherished and they loved and cherished her. She loved to travel to see family and had a great love of reading, especially her Bible.
She is preceded in death by her parents, OJ Moreland and Nellie Moreland; her stepmother, Velma Moreland; her husband, Ed Colclasure; her brothers and sisters and second husband, Bruce Gibbs.
Left with loving memories of her are children, Richard (Rick) Colclasure and Donna Colclasure Altwein (JC); Grandchildren, Adrienne Altwein Searles (Kevin), Stephanie Altwein McGuire (CR Hobbs), Holland Colclasure and Cara Colclasure (Carl McReynolds). A special Thank You to all the wonderful people at Greystone Nursing and Rehab and especially her Tressie, who called her Mama.
The family will have a graveside gathering at Rest Hills Memorial Park, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, AR, at 11am on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022.

She always was and will always be my favorite aunt. Such a beautiful lady, when you were in her presence you could feel the love and spirit from her big heart. Her laugh was infectious. She was a beautiful lady throughout her lifetime, and the beauty she reflected from her generous and caring heart is beyond words. I will always love you Aunt Lou!

Aunt Lou was the epitome of class grace and poise. Was always extremely kind to everyone, never spoke ill of others. When I was little, she was the only one who i would let cut my hair for years. She has always been one of my top favorite persons . Always loved visiting with her. She will be greatly missed.
