September 28, 1933 - October 29, 2022
Nina Robbs, 89, of Coal Hill, Arkansas went to sleep in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
Nina Ruth Guptill-Robbs was born in Grand Valley, Colorado (present day Parachute, Colorado) on September 28, 1933 to Archie Harrison Guptill and Florence Ida Gregg-Guptill. She was the ninth of 10 children, spending her early childhood in western Colorado. She was an accomplished cosmetologist and owned her own Beauty Shop for several years in Rifle, Colorado. Nina met and married the love of her life, Ray Sherman Robbs, on January 13, 1966, living in the Pacific Northwest and enjoying many years in beautiful northern Idaho. They enjoyed 31 happy and eventful years together. After her retirement, Nina made the big decision to move to Tucson, Arizona, to live near her daughter, Colleen. She so enjoyed the sunshine and the casual lifestyle of southern Arizona. 2010 found her making another life changing decision to move to western Arkansas to live near her son, Delmer and family. Nina loved life and so enjoyed living near many of her grandchildren and welcomed each new great grandbaby as they joined the family. Nina was an accomplished cook, a caregiver and through her life she learned to be a jack of all trades. In her later years, she experienced health issues and lost one leg due to complications. Even though confined to a wheelchair, Nina lived independently and loved life and always had a cheerful attitude and a smile for everyone who came to visit her.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Florence Guptill; one daughter, Colleen Cowell and eight siblings.
She is survived by one sister, Eunice Thompson of Lincoln, Califomia; three sons, Glen Carden of Moab, Utah, David Robbs and wife, Kim of Loco Hills, New Mexico and Delmer Robbs and wife, Paula of Coal Hill; twenty-three grandchildren, including Jeremiah Nickel, Rainbow Carden, Brittany Robbs, Cody Robbs, Michael Robbs, Carly Robbs, Robin Robbs, Nicole Davis, Wallace Tomason III, Marissa Robbs, Timothy Robbs and Delrae Robbs-Lane and numerous great-grandchildren.
Nina also leaves behind many dear friends and a host of family members, including many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
No services are planned at this time.
I will miss my little sister, Nina Ruth. I think back fondly over our growing up years and the many times we did get together, although we never did live near each other. There were always the special Guptill Family Reunions when many of us would get together for a week-end, and there were a couple of other times when my husband and I traveled and visited her and her family--one in Washington State and once in Arizona. In our later years the telephone was our means of getting together, sharing news about our families and encouraging each other. We always signed off with "Love you, Love you" and "Love you too." Now, I am looking forward to the time when Jesus wakes up our sleeping loved ones in perfect health and beauty to live in our heavenly home forever. Rest In Peace sweet sister!!
We will miss her she was a sweet aunt with a funny attitude She now with Jesus. A much better place. Good bye aunt Nina
Knew you so many years ago in Rifle, CO. We lost track but when met again was like we had been out of touch only a few days. Have thought about you so many times since we again lost touch but you will always be in my good memories. Will miss you. Rest in our Lord's arms.
Glen, David, Delmer and all your families,
We so loved visiting with Aunt Nina. We have special memories of her coming to Dad (Harold's) 80th bday party here at our place and all the family reunions we shared over the years. David, we still remember all the help you gave us at Dad's party and you are thought of often. May Nina rest in peace as she's joined her Heavenly family and is having another family gathering in the sky. Share your stories of her and if you ever get our way, give us a call.
Love, hugs, memories and all of God's Blessings, Richard & Charlotte and our families
So sorry for your loss
Nina was one of the many great aunts that the Houle children had. Remember my mom and dad would all ways have stories about Nina to tell as well as Esther and Eunice. May she rest in Jesus arms and have a shining light over all who miss her. We love you Aunt Nina Jackie (Houle) Berndt
