of Searcy, AR
October 3, 1931 - October 29, 2022
Lela May Vire, 91, went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2022 surrounded by her family. Her feisty and loving nature that touched so many will continue to live for years to come. She was born in Searcy, Arkansas on October 3, 1931 to the late Elmer and Elva (McFadden) Ferren.
Lela was born to be a homemaker and take care of others. She took great pride in supporting her husband Raymond during his Air Force military commitment. During his career, the family moved around the United States and other areas around the world. She was an avid church attender and went to church at Searcy First Assembly every time the doors were open. She enjoyed her gardening and almost every inch of her yard was covered with plants or flowers. Lela enjoyed cooking, when anyone came to visit she would start a meal as soon as they arrived, either for family or friends and you did not leave hungry. One of her greatest treasures was celebrating birthdays with her grandkids. She was also a "Gaither Fan" and enjoyed the last few days listening to their music.
Her husband, Raymond, preceded her in death in 2001 after fifty-one years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ray Void (Buddy), Marvin Ferren and Dean Ferren; one sister, Mildred Henderson and two grandchildren, Ronald Anthony Vire and Melinda Dawn Vire.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Vire; daughters, Katie (Lewis) Liljeberg and Barbara Vire; brothers and sisters, Carl (Marlene) Ferren, Alvin (Gloria) Ferren, Katie (Charles) Hunter, Velma (Louie) Reed and Peggy Mendenhall; grandchildren, Vince (Terry) Vire, Keith (Ashley) Pierson, Kyle (Courtney) Pierson and Raymond (Josie) Young; five great-grandchildren, Faith Vire, Joel Vire, Cheynne Pierson, Wesley Pierson and Beau Pierson; also a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. Funeral Service will be 10:00AM Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Searcy First Assembly. Interment will follow at White County Memorial Gardens.

LilaMae gave up her time to care for my Mother Eunice when she was in dire need! And, after my Mother went to be with Jesus….She, was always there to uplift me when I felt all alone in this Big World and had, I felt, no one else who really cared! Thanks LilaMae, for the Unconditional Love You always gave to Heidi-Marie Ferren and to myself Charlotte Ferren!!!😔😥ðŸ™ðŸ»â¤ï¸
