FULL OBITUARY PENDING
H. Laverne Thompson was born on September 4, 1941 in Dell, Arkansas to Dennis and Mable King. She passed away on October 13, 2022 at the age of 81.
Laverne lived a beautiful life with her husband, Richard and together they enjoyed 56 years of a marriage filled with deep love and unwavering devotion to one another. They were active members of the senior's class in their church and especially enjoyed traveling with the group to various destinations around the U.S. and Canada.
She was a faithful member of First Assembly in North Little Rock. She loved and supported her church and her pastors. When she was physically unable to attend she was faithful to watch the services online, sometime all three Sunday morning services. She was committed to giving and supporting various mission projects.
She was a dedicated employee and enjoyed a successful career as an executive secretary with General Motors Corp.
Although she and Richard never had children, they treated the family's children as their own. She loved her family and will be remembered and missed greatly for her generous and loving nature.
She is survived by two sisters, Yvonne Bolton of Cabot, Arkansas and Kay Bell (Jerry) also of Cabot, as well as a number of nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Thompson; parents, Dennis and Mable King and brother, Dennis R. King.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 19 at First Assembly in North Little Rock at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot, Arkansas.

Laverne was a beautiful lady inside and outside. I loved fellowshipping with her and Richard when the Keenagers traveled. They were such fun and caring people. She and her beautiful smile will be greatly missed.
