September 9, 1947 - October 12, 2022

Thomas Joseph Nesseth, often known as ''Tommy Brown'', passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Arkansas at the age of 75 after a 16 year struggle with congestive heart failure. Tommy lived most of his life in Mountain View as the co-owner and operator of Brown's Gas Station and Laundromat.

Born September 9, 1947 in Memphis, Tennessee, to Constance Rita Facello and Owen Nesseth, Tommy served as an altar boy, celebrated as a state football champion for Catholic High for Boys, and often reminisced of grand adventures with his uncles Joe Facello, Joe Grassie, Curtis Jolly, and Lee Young. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he settled in the Monticello area and began a family. He worked as a foreman in construction until he relocated to Mountain View in 1988 to be near his mother at the death of his stepfather, Billie Joe Brown. For two decades, Tommy visited with hundreds of customer-friends as he pumped their gas and washed their windshields. Tommy sold Brown's in 2007 with the dream to move out West. A stroke and heart attack halted this change and he remained in the area with his children until his death.

Tommy was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gun enthusiast. He enjoyed nothing better than including people in his passion for the outdoors. ''Uncle Tommy'' never thought twice about opening his home to his cousins so they could enjoy Arkansas deer seasons. He looked forward to traveling out West on annual elk hunting adventures with his Stone County buddies. As a Pappaw, he made sure each of his grandsons went fishing once they learned to walk and he would play outside with any of his grandkids at the mention of ''outside''.

He is survived by his three children, Thomas ''Joe'' Nesseth of Heber Springs, Crystal Lankford and husband, Trent, of Mountain View, and Shelly Hudspeth and husband, Micheal, of Mountain Home; five grandchildren, Logan Hudspeth, Garrett Hudspeth, Josh Younger, Haley Younger, and Dani Oden; two great-grandchildren, Jasper Younger and Stella Hudspeth, and two more expected soon; his only sibling, Donald Nesseth and wife, Janet, of Southaven, Mississippi; a multitude of cousins and family; and his adored grandpuppies, Squeaker and Peanut. Tommy spent the past two decades as the eldest in his family-lineage.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Roller-Coffman-Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas, preceding the funeral to begin at 2:00. Junior Barham is officiating. Pallbearers are Joshua Younger, Logan Hudspeth, Joey Facello, Johnny Facello, Lee Jolly, and Patrick Grassie. Honorary pallbearers are his surviving adventure buddies Buddy Winningham, Phil Dearien, Neil Harness, Bill Nixon, and Danny Sartain.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.

We are so sorry to hear this. Marty and I and my mother, Mary Helen Albright, loved that man. Tom had this amazing ability to remember everyone’s birthdays and all kinds of other dates. He was intelligent and funny and loved people. He had the biggest heart and would do anything
for anyone. I know he’s up there talking Jesus’s ears off now. We love you Tom. God bless the family.
