of Drasco, AR
March 8, 1951 - October 11, 2022
Larry D. Delancey, 71, of Drasco, Arkansas completed his earthly journey on October 11, 2022 in Searcy, Arkansas with his family at his side. He began his journey with his parents, Leon Amos and Geraldine Staggs Delancey in Osceola, Arkansas on March 8, 1951. He was known to be a hard worker and a family man who taught by example. He loved the Lord and lived his life for Him every day.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Brenda Faye Reece Delancey. Left to cherish his memory is his two sons, Larry Shannon Delancey and Brandon H. Delancey both of Drasco, Arkansas; one grandson, Landon Delancey; his three brothers, Ricky (Barbara) Delancey of Blytheville, AR, Steve (Linda) Delancey of Blytheville, AR and Jerry (Diane) Delancey of Osceola, AR along with his nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
Throughout his working days you could find Larry driving a truck and in later years, he worked as a tile man putting the finishing touch on many beautiful homes around the Greers Ferry Lake area. He wanted people to see the beauty all around in God's creation. He shared that with his family as often as he could by doing what he loved most. He enjoyed being outdoors and reaping what he was able to grow from the ground. One thing he was famous for was growing cucumbers so he could make pickles. He was known for his hunting and fishing and he would always have his sons and grandson with him.
The real lessons that his sons remember most about their Dad was that he loved the Lord and that was one thing that they will always remember about him and the lessons that he taught them to live their life by.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later time at the Ruddle Road Church of God in Blytheville, Arkansas with Brother Danny Pankey Officiating.
I went to school with Larry and he was always a very nice person to talk to and to know!!!
MISS YOU MY FRIEND.
When I went to maintenance department at American Greetings, he always made me laugh and was always willing to help me whenever I needed it. I'm sure not only will his family miss him, but a lot of his co-workers and friends will miss him, too.
