December 6, 1963 - October 8, 2022

Kimberly E. Donna, 58, of Searcy passed away in her home October 8, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born December 6, 1963 to James and Betty (Sutherland) Mathis.

She is preceded in death by her father; husband, Richard Joseph Donna Jr; her infant sister, Kimberly Jo and sister, Tracy Vest.

Kimberly is survived by her mother; one brother, Brian Mathis; brother-in-law, Ron Vest; nephews, Hunter Mathis and Oakley Vest; niece, Eleni (Wes) Gilbert; two grand-nephews, Wyatt Vest and Briar Gilbert and many other friends and loved ones.

Kimberly was a retired Federal Auditor, which came with opportunities to travel the world while completing her assigned duties. She met her husband while she was working in Kansas City and had a long distance relationship until he convinced her to move to Boston. One memorable assignment was to audit the Concorde Airplane while stationed in San Diego. Some of her other interests included her Barbie Collection, her love of dogs and her family. Tracy and Kim were very close and enjoyed ''Junk Diving'' for repurposing. After Tracy passed Kimberly and her mother picked up the ''Junk Diving'' and did this for a few years until Kimberly was not able to go.

A Graveside Service will be 1:00PM Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Salem Cemetery in Salem, Arkansas. Services have been entrusted to Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

So sad to hear of Kim’s passing.
We were first cousins, but I was 15 yrs older, so not very close until last 10 years. Kim was such a sweet girl and remained a sweet and giving adult. When she and Richard moved back to KC she lived near my Mother, Donna Mathis. Mom was in a nursing home - my sister and I both lived out of state. Kim and Richard helped my Mom more times than I can remember. They would visit her and once even bought her a new phone! They would listen to all mom’s stories about Kim’s father and the Mathis family. My niece was the only other relative in the area. She was a nurse and had a family with 2 boys - so busy! Mom would always speak so highly of Kim. Praying for Kim’s mother and brother, such a loss for the family.

To my dearest best friend since first grade !! The loss of you so soon and young cannot be put into words. Even miles and miles away we always remained a part of each other. The softball games, (which they NEVER would put us on the same team!) all the bicycle riding, miles and miles and miles.....and then there was playing tennis! Playing you Kim, only made me better! You were better at everything we did together from making me laugh and stay up all night at so many sleepovers to having more patience than I on the long drive to my family in Dallas Texas. Just not enough room to list it all. You were truly God's gift to me as a best friend. I've been so blessed to know you as well as the many many others in your life. My/Our prayers are with your family & other friends. This earth was a much better place with your beautiful self, smile and laughter you were always willing to share with everyone on it. I will forever miss you and love you to infinity & beyond.

I am so sorry to hear about Kim. She was a few years younger, but we shared a love for estate sales. I saw her often and she always was happy to find a new treasure for her collections. The last time I saw her, she was grieving the loss of her husband earlier this year. I hope it brings some comfort to her family to know they are together again.

Kim and I became friends in college and ended up working for the same government agency in Kansas City. I have many fond memories of our work travels together. We stayed in contact even after she moved to Boston and she stood with me when I got married. We each found our ways back to Arkansas in recent years and I’m so grateful to have had that time to renew our friendship. Love you Kim!

Not only did we get to share an amazing first name, but a long-lasting friendship. I am so grateful for the privilege of being your friend; there was never a dull moment.
My thoughts & prayers go out to her Momma & family during the difficult times ahead. Her wit, humor, kindness, & compassion will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

I am so sorry for you loss. Kim and I played softball together as kids and I loved playing with her. She was always so much fun. Though her years were short it seems she lived her life to the full. I pray you are comforted in the days to come as you learn how to live these remaining days until you are reunited with Kim.
