She was raised in Colorado until the age of five when she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico with her parents and grandparents on Route 66, where they owned a motel. In 1955 she moved to the farm in Sansing Hollow. She attended and graduated from Bergman School where she met her sweetheart, Mike Patton, in the 9th grade. They became lifelong best friends and were joined in marriage on December 22, 1967. They worked hard and had fun together as they started their young family. They established their home in Bergman, Arkansas after college, where they lived happily and raised their family. She had many early jobs and found a home and second family at Sears for 39 years (October 1975-October 2014), where she tried to get everyone in town the best deal, with a constant smile on her face.
Brenda was proud of all her family and treated everyone she met with the same kindness and love. She hosted and attended many cookouts and birthdays, where she was always smiling, laughing, and the life of the party. She enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and many adventures and events with her family and Buckette friends. She always had an upbeat and positive attitude that would shine in any room. Brenda attended and was a member of the Bergman Church of Christ. Brenda possessed many qualities that we all knew and loved. She was a strong woman in her faith through all her struggles and illness. She took one day at a time and took joy in all moments with her courageous spirit. She never failed to have a listening ear followed by support and encouragement. She shared wisdom and advice without ever passing judgment. She taught us the best example of how to trust in God. She showed love for all people and inspired all those she encountered. She had a beautiful soul inside and out. You never saw her without a beaming smile on her face and she continued to show it until God called her home.
"We have been blessed to have a mom like you. You were compassionate, beautiful, and strong, you knew us best and loved us most, dried our tears, held our hand, gave us wings, raised us up, the purest love, supportive, gracious, inspirational, wonderful, always with us, a heart of gold, taught us love, our guiding light, helped us grow, cheered us on, our first and best friend, and we are forever grateful for your unconditional love."
In Memory of a life beautifully lived and a heart so deeply loved please join us in the celebration of Brenda Kay Patton
