Butch and I spent many days playing basketball at my old home place across the street from his house in Summit. We would even hang a light in top of a tree so we could play at night..Connie ,I have a lot of memories of our days at Yellville-Summit High.I’m sure he will still be knocking down that jump shot he was so famous for, in heaven.
Thinking of you at this time.My condolences,
Elliott

A truly outstanding basketball player. He was known as a scorer, which he was, but he was also an exceptional passer and ball handler and he could play defense when asked to. He was a great teammate, fun to play with. If there was a critical moment in a game, you wanted the ball in his hands.

Butch loved the game of basketball as much as anyone I have ever known. He had a memory like an elephant and could remember specific details about our games. He had a great attitude and it was always a treat to cross paths with him.

Butch was one of those men that was tough, but in a loving way. He treated his "kids" like family and always had a smile and a hug when you needed it. He is one of my favorite people from my childhood and will surely be missed many.
