of England, AR
April 2, 1931 - September 18, 2022
Carroll Dewayne King of England passed away on September 18th, 2022.
He was born on April 2nd in 1931 in Judsonia AR, one of five children of Bill and Redgie King, with his brothers, Howard, Billy, Jimmy and his sister, Lillian. In his adolescence the family moved to Oil Trough, AR. He spoke often of the friends he made there, such as Billie Lois Barber and Willie Crabtree. He met his beloved wife of 64 years, Pat, in Newport in 1957, the pair then movied to Tuckerman, where he would receive his Bachelor's in Athletic Training and his Master's in Education from Arkansas State University, Jonesboro. He later completed his Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from Memphis State University.
Over his long life he guided others in many different environments, from coaching basketball, to his post "retirement" consulting career, but most will likely remember him as the Superintendent of Schools for England, AR for over twenty years. A quiet, powerful presence in a gray suit, seemingly keeping everyone in line just by being there.
Carroll was preceded in death by his siblings and son, David King. He is survived by Pat; their son, Billy and daughter-in-law, Michelle; grandchildren, Hannah, Nikki and Jason and great-grandchildren, Riley, Delilah and Darby. Carroll was a hard worker who took good care of his family and also found time to enjoy himself with golf, horse racing and occasionally, the bright lights of the casino.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 23rd at 10:00 AM at Mulberry Cemetery in England. Visitation will be Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 6-8:00 P. M. at Roller England Funeral Home.
Memorial donations can be made to Christ's Closet, in care of First United Methodist Church, 200 2nd St England, AR 72046.
Services are being handled by Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939.

Mr. King was a good man. A very smart man. If you knew him you couldn’t help but like him.
We had some really good times playing golf with him and the crew at England CC for many years.
Sending my condolences to the family.
I Enjoyed And Appreciated The (Retired) Mr. King more so than the Disciplinarian Mr. King. We had the best conversations at The Revenue Office, I didn't realize he had such a sense of humor. Prayers for Mrs. Pat & his Family.
