Gary Louis Hill, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. He was born on Saturday, December 23, 1950 to the late John G. Hill and Betty Mitchell Hill in West Helena, Arkansas. Gary was president of the LDS branch in West Helena, Arkansas until it closed. The church moved to Senatobia, Mississippi where he held his Priesthood in Honor. He worked in the chemical industry for 54 years and retired a chemical engineer. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved playing horseshoes, fishing, and basketball. He was an avid Razorback fan and was an avid donor to St. Jude. He loved his hometown and loved all his friends and neighbors. He always gave of himself freely and we're going to miss him dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Hill; one sister, Jenna Compton (Stephen) of Little Rock, AR; three sons, John "Mitch" Hill of West Helena, Arkansas, John Swan (Susan Stokes) of Helena, Arkansas, Eddie Swan (Mesheal) of Little Rock, Arkansas; two daughters, Lisa Hill of California and Tammy Silverberg of Helena, Arkansas; fifteen grand and fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Hill; daughter, Kelly Thomas.
A funeral service for Gary Louis Hill will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, Chapel. A visitation will be held prior to at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas. Conducting the service will be Bishop Afrain Cavazos and President Burns will be presiding.
Pallbearers will be President Glen Burns, Bishop Afrain Cavazos, Elder Simpson, Elder Pederson, Jeremy Babcock, and Mark Syme.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dale Kummer, Eddie Schieffler, Bobby Von Kanel, Michael Brokeshoulder, Draec Lewis, and Bruce Mitchell.

I will miss running into him at the Post Office. We would talk briefly and catch up. He was always so nice to mother at the nursing home when he came to spend time with Ms Betty,

I was fond of Gary in high school so funny but shy. So sorry for your loss haven’t seen in 50 years.
Gary was a great classmate and high school friend. I pray for peace and comfort for the family. Gary’s body now sleeps but his spirit rejoices with those gone before him!
