Marilyn Rhea Lambert, age 69, of West Helena, Arkansas passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022. She was born on July 7, 1953 in Caldwell, Texas to the late Chester Lambert and Fairy Jepsen Lambert. Marilyn graduated from Henderson State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and Arkansas State University with a Master of Science in Education degree. She was a teacher for the Helena-West Helena School District for 39 years.
She is survived by two sons, James Carl Wilson and Larry Ray Wilson; one brother, Bill Lambert (Tracy) of Sparta, Tennessee; two sisters, Beverly Edwards (Alan) of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Lanoria Lambert of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Fairy Lambert.
A graveside service for Marilyn Rhea Lambert will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to service time. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in West Helena, Arkansas.

Marilyn and I started out teaching on the same team at Woodruff Elementary School in West Helena in 1976 and worked on that team until 1981, when I became the principal at Woodruff. I had the privilege of serving as her principal for the next 12 years. She was truly a professional. I admired and respected the super job she did in her classroom with her students. We will all miss her!

My cousin Marilyn was usually the life of our family gatherings! I always delighted in awaiting her next move! As I grew up she made me feel more and more a part of the 'big kids' group. We became very good friends and that was truly sealed on her visits to Phx. We spent a week together scouring the Malls and stopping only for food and the occaisional margarita. I will miss her terribly and rejoice in her being reunited with her parents, grandparents, friends and pets. Rest in Paradise. Im looking forward to seeing you again in God's time. I have lots of wonderful memories we made together as family. You loved your family. You were an AMAZING teacher, mentor and administrator and GT Coordinator. I enjoyed the 12 years we taught in the same school district so many years ago (especially "Big Brothers-Big Sisters Program" that our 2 classes did together!) Until we see each other again in God's timing, I Love/Miss You Sis!
