I grew up knowing of Charley, but did not meet her until 2013. She became a regular guest on TheSportsBrew for several months and it was a total blast! She was such a beautiful person but the beauty that was with-in her was even greater. It has been 5 years since I talked with her, and I regret that. I want to send my condolences to her family. So beautiful in every way. Charley, Rest in Peace in the wonderful care of our Lord.

Charla and I did something so unusual together at the end of our senior year…. We went to Ft Chaffee and we’re each placed in a building full of men, women and children (Korean refugees) to teach them English with a large chalkboard and a piece of chalk.
We reconnected when she was selling her luscious cheesecakes to coffee shops in Fayetteville/Springdale. I’m so sorry her vibrant sparky personality has left this earth. Charla “Charlie†was a believer in Jesus taking her place to pay for her sins…. I’m happy for her to be forever forgiven and with the Lord God of Creation.
My dear friend Charla, such a beautiful soul, my heart is broken. There is so much I could say, but I don't even know where to start. We had so many fun times and I will cherish our friendship always. I know you are in a better place, and we will see each other again someday.
I am so sorry to hear about Charla. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. Always so sweet and nice to me. Know that all you of are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Charla. Until we meet again.
So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Heaven has definitely gained a beautiful angel

So sorry to hear this sad news of Charla’s passing. She was a beautiful, fun and talented classmate and was loved by all. I’m thankful I was able to reconnect with her several years ago through Charlie’s Cheesecakes. I had the opportunity to go to her house in West Fork to pick up my first order of her delicious desserts. We reminisced of our high school days and marveled at how fast the years had gone by. She still had her beautiful smile and laughter. I know she will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace, my friend.

Shocking is not the right word. Even though I have not seen Charla for over 20 years; what an enormous sense of loss. Seeing such a familiar and beautiful face in an obituary just shakes you right down to your core. I went to school with Charla from the first grade through the 12th. We shared many many laughs and many fun times --- even when she was writing her "Dear Jessie" ghost advice column in the school newspaper. She was a bright star and one of my favorite memories from the class of 1974. I went to UCA and she went to Tech. Charla was a disc jockey for a small radio station in Dardanelle. Occasionally, when I drove home for the weekend, I'd stop by the station to catch up. It was always one huge laugh. That is how I will always remember Charla. Beautiful. Laughing. Smiling. She stopped by my office in Fayetteville about 20 years ago; and she was the same. I pray that God has granted her peace and she awakens with a beautiful perfect and incorruptible body.
Mrs. Trusty; I still remember coming out to your house in the country and sitting on your porch swing under the big oak tree. Those were good times. I hope you have peace as well. You have a lovely daughter.
Charla; rest in peace friend. Kenneth

I loved hearing Charla laugh and that beautiful smile she had, she was a very talented lady and left memories to cherish in the hearts of the ones who knew herâ¤ï¸â¤ï¸ðŸ™
Seeing her picture and obituary shocked me into believing it was real!! I am heartbroken, Shirley and family. I baby-sat her, I sat by her on the school bus and my girls grew up playing with her. I have so many wonderful memories of her. But somehow they make me sad because of the enormity of the loss. So I am picturing her in Heaven, healthy, enjoying time with her dad and others. Prayers, hugs and love to all.

This is heartbreaking. She has left us too soon. As her former classmate in high school and college, I had so much admiration for her talent in journalism and her kindness and humanity. I hear she made a darn good cheesecake too. Rest In Peace, Charlie.
