James Neal Burns was born on November 5th, 1935. He passed away peacefully on June 10th, 2022, at 11:30am. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Burns, his younger brother Buddy Burns, his sons Tim and James Lee Burns, his grandchildren Nathan and Sydney Burns, as well as countless others. James Burns was an honored member of the community and reached many hearts.
There will be opportunities to share and visit during the following times: June 16th from 5:00pm-7:00pm, family will be available to receive visitors at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Hwy 65 S Arkansas 72031. We would love for you to bring a story to share with the family of James and the impact he left.
June 19th at 2:00pm, a memorial service will be held at Scotland Baptist Church, 278 Postal Lane, Scotland, AR 72141. Prior to the service a memorial lunch will be held at Scotland Baptist Church with visitation from 12:30-2:00pm. It will be the kind of event that James loved to cook fish at- please bring a dish to share if you would like, however as James would say, we'd just love to see you.
Due to the family's severe allergies, please refrain from sending or bringing live flowers, wearing heavy perfumes, or strong scents. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted and used to help the Scotland Arkansas Community.

so sorry to hear of our dear friends passing. we both lived in bakersfield california for some years. he loved trucks and loved to drive them. always had a smile for everyone. he was a quiet and gentle man with a good heart and he loved to cook for the church and his friends.i could say a lot more about my friend but most all of you already know how he was.my dad always said a friend in need is a friend indeed. so now we bid you goodbye and say later old friend. jolita and i love you very much.

Joyce I was privileged to know as a friend and a fellow worker James. He was always fun to be around and a pleasure to work with. We had many great times together when he had his little logging crew. Those were good days for me and I would expect for him. Gods blessings to you and your family.

I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Burns’ passing. God blessed him with a very long and profitable Christian life filled with many blessings. No matter what age our loved ones are when they leave this world, they are hard to relinquish, but God has blessed us with the capacity to always remember the many years that we have shared with them. Working with Mr. Burns at the chuck wagon races was a pleasure and a blessing for me. May God place His arms around your family and provide each of you with all the comfort you need during this time and the days to come.
