David McConnell WalkerI am a Veteran.

of North Little Rock, AR

May 13, 1952 - June 10, 2022

David McConnell Walker, 70, of North Little Rock passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022. He was born on May 13, 1952 in Nashville, Arkansas to the late Dan and Jean Walker.

David graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville with a degree in Bachelor of Science. He served in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel, retiring after 30 years of service. He then worked as a Civil Engineer for the Highway Transport Department, retiring from that position.

David was very involved in the communities within the Christian roles he served. He was devoutly committed to the Awana Program for 37 years. His involvement ranged from a grey shirt listener to club commander. He became a part of the Arkansas Ministry Team as club commander and board member.

He was a math teacher and custodial coordinator of Abundant Life schools. David would volunteer as scoreboard operator for all their basketball games.

As a family man, David was even more involved with the activities and important events of his children, grandchildren and his daughters-in-law. Anything to do with his family, he was always present and never missed an opportunity to support them.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Anne O. Walker; three sons, DJ Walker (Cristi) and their children, Makenna and Kinsley Walker; Greg Walker (Jessica) and their children, Keegan and Harper Walker; and Phillip Walker (Whitney) and their child, Lydia Walker and one brother, Bill Walker (Cathy)

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Jean Walker.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 1:00 PM, with a visitation held one hour prior to services, at 12:00 PM, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Red River Valley Honors Camp, 1105 E H Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72116, in honor of David.

I'm sad that I just now saw this. David was a good man and a Good Resident Engineer. I had the honor of getting to know him many years ago at the AHTD. My condolences to his family and friends. God Bless you all.

So very sorry to hear about Mr Walkers death. I remember him being a very kind soul to everyone and had a fierce love for his family and our Lord Jesus. Unfortunately I can’t attend the service but I’m praying that the Lotd will wrap you in His love and that you will be pleased with Tim speaking at his funeral to honor his life.
