Roy Edwin Whitfield, 69, died Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at his home in Ozone surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 31, 1952, in Chickamauga, Georgia, to Roy and Willie Pearl (Davis) Whitfield. Roy was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He was deeply devoted to his family and spent much time fixing anything that was broken. Roy was also a dedicated member of the Valley View Baptist Church in Flintstone, Georgia for many years and served as a Sunday School Teacher and Choir Director.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Willie Whitfield; one brother, Timothy Whitfield and one sister, Sherrie Howard.
Roy is survived by his loving wife, Helen Whitfield; two sons, Jeremiah Whitfield and Daniel Whitfield; two daughters, Daisy Lowrance and Carrie Ellegood and husband Earl; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Ozone Community Building.
