Denny Gene Battershell, age 64, of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday, May 14th, 2022 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on December 27th, 1957 to Nathan Freeman "N.F." Battershell and Glenda Mae Thompson Battershell.
Denny worked at Ferguson's for many years as a furniture maker. He enjoyed woodworking and was excellent at his trade. He was an avid gardener with an amazing green thumb and could make anything grow. Denny was a wonderful cook and his famous "mater" noodles were enjoyed by many. He will also be remembered for his ability to "cut a rug". He liked being on the dance floor showing off his skills. Denny's greatest joy came from spending time with his kids and grandkids. They were a piece of his heart and they will greatly miss his presence in their lives.
Survivors include his wife, Kandus Ledford Battershell of the home; his children, Darin Battershell of Marshall, Dennin Battershell of Marshall, Brandy McCoy and husband Nathaniel of Republic, Missouri and Lacey Ledford of Marshall; grandchildren, Angelo Jett (Darriel) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Mykala Battershell of Harrison, Bailey Battershell of Greensville, Mississippi and Kaydence Ledford of Marshall; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Jett and Camilla Jett; sisters, Joan Field of Kentucky, Beth Tyler of Marshall, Shelly Holliman of Harriet, Natha Davis of Marshall and Mary Bottorf of Harrison; and many extended family and friends who will also mourn his passing.
Denny is preceded in death by his parents, N.F. and Glenda Battershell; and one sister, Sandy Field.
A private family graveside memorial service will be held at Rambo Cemetery at a later date.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Denny Battershell memorial fund at First National Bank in Marshall, Arkansas.
I was really sorry to hear of Denny's passing. My prayers are with Kandus and all his family, may he Rest in Peace.

So very sorry, when I first started at Ferguson’s 37 years ago, Denny was one of the first guys I met from the Factory, always funny made us all laugh. I did get to see him through the years, usually at Harps, he was always glad to chat about what was going on with the woodworking at Ferguson’s, he was a very talented craftsman. Danny was a great guy! He was always forgiving of me an darin for all the things we got into... but at the end of the day he never held anything against us! I'm gonna miss him greatly!!!
