Melvin L. Buddenberg, 88, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022. He was born to the late Leroy Buddenberg and Verdna Johnson on May 4, 1934, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Melvin worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician for over 40 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, where he served as Sergeant during the Korean War. Melvin was an avid golfer and a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. During his final years, he loved to watch the birds which brought him great joy. Melvin was also an active member of Levy Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Beverly J. Spray; brother, Scott Buddenberg; and grandson, Curry Spray.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, 10:00 A.M., at Roller-Owens Funeral Home in North Little Rock. A visitation will be held one-hour prior to services.
A private burial will take place at Rest Hills Memorial Park, at a later time.

I don’t know if you remember me, but I use to teach with your Mom at NLR. I loved your Mom & Dad dearly. After my husband d passed away, I moved to Calif. Very sorry to just learn of Mel's passing, he was a fine man. We have very fond childhood & young adult memories of Mel & Jayrene as great neighbors & friends. Mel was such a hard-working & decent man that dearly loved his family & country...he will be missed. Our thoughts & prayers are with the extended family at this difficult time.

Such a great man, I worked with Mel at the Union Pacific Shops. Prayers for the family, he will be missed.
Mel was such a wonderful person. I will never forget how Mel and Jarene were so kind to my kids when they were younger. Rest in peace Mel and I am sure Ms. Jarene is glad to see you again. God bless your family.
