Clifford Horton, age 91 of Leslie, Arkansas passed from this life on Monday, April 11th, 2022 at his home. He was born in Rock Springs, Arkansas on October 14th, 1930 to Rex Horton and Letha Ragland Horton.
Clifford was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Army. He received a Purple Heart for wounds he received during action. He was a farmer by trade and spent many years growing Searcy County strawberries and tomatoes. He enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting and fishing. Clifford had a wonderful sense of humor and his strong presence will be greatly missed by his family.
Survivors include his children, Sandi Horton and husband Lamar of Marshall and Rita Smith and husband Michael of Springdale; grandchildren, Jessy Cassell and husband Cody of Marshall and Justin Horton of Helena Montana; great-grandchildren, Laney Blackwell, Grayson Blackwell, Lilly Blackwell, Brayden Cassell, Webster Cassell, Daylon Hampton and Samantha Horton; sister, Edna Watts of Leslie; his little Chihuahua, constant companion and friend, Frosty; and numerous extended family and friends who will mourn his passing.
Clifford is preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Letha Horton; his wife of 54 years, Ethel Lillian Jackson Horton who passed away in 2007; one daughter, Jeanette Horton; and granddaughter, Jamie Horton.
Graveside services for Clifford will be 1:00 PM Friday, April 15th, 2022 at Cypert Cemetery near Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Kenny McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Thursday, April 14th, 2022 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas. Clifford will be laid to rest with Military Honors. Bearers will be Jarrett Watts, Ricky Watts, Dirk Watts, Gerald Ragland, Roy Dale Ragland and Randy Ragland.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Clifford's caregivers, Legacy Hospice, Lisa Jones, Cheryl Ross, Sam Jackson, Tammy Deckard, Rachel Bellard and Lynette Brenaman.
