Barbara Ann Cannon

of Little Rock, AR

September 4, 1952 - February 7, 2022

Barbara Ann Cannon, born on September 4, 1952 in Little Rock, AR to the late Roy & Dorothy Shelby, peacefully entered Heaven at 9:25pm on February 7, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Wife to her husband of 51 years, Roy, amazing mother to her 2 sons, Billy & Shelby, sister to Doug Shelby (Carol) & Vickie Shelby and caring friend to countless others.

Barbara was a light in every room she was in. Even until the very end, during her illness, she was always making sure everyone around her was doing ok. Constantly checking on others. That's how she lived every day.

She loved music of all kinds, often belting out tunes randomly or when they came on the radio. She especially loved singing in the choirs at Geyer Springs FBC in Little Rock and Northrich Baptist in Richardson, TX, where they lived for 17 years before moving back to Little Rock in July of 2018.

Barbara loved adventure and traveling. She even had the amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity to work in the Caribbean for over a year on a hospital consulting project, which allowed her to make many life long friends and memories on the tiny island of St. Thomas.

Barbara loved everyone. Her big heart was as infectious as her beautiful smile, which was evident by everyone who was around her.

While we are heartbroken over her passing, we find incredible peace and comfort in knowing she's not hurting anymore and in her Heavenly home catching up with those who went before her. We can only imagine!

The family would like to give our sincerest thanks to all the Doctors & Nurses at Baptist Health in Little Rock who served her with excellence, Dr. Joe Pevahouse at Baptist Health Renal Associates, Fresenius dialysis centers in Benton and Little Rock, her amazing home caregivers, Cecelia, Caroline & Sha, our incredible Hospice nurses, Katherine, Summer & Patti, and Dr. Tyler Nelson and his staff for the best possible care and comfort.

Services are pending and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask you please donate to the Alzheimer's Research foundation - so hopefully one day soon, families will not have to endure this awful disease.

Barbara was an Amazing Lady who loved God and lived by example of His faithfulness. She touched my heart in St Thomas and she was a huge supporter and mentor that pushed me into high levels of success. She is loved and will be missed. But as the years have come many times her voice can be heard and it will continue to be heard forever "you can do it!" "Stop that!" "You are a smart boy."
