Carolyn Sue (Smith) Tucker

of Tulsa, OK

February 23, 2021 - December 30, 2021

Carolyn Sue (Smith) Tucker, 78, was born on February 23, 1943, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Winfrey and Bernice (Fullerton) Smith and went to be with her Lord on December 30, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1961 and has maintained a lifelong friendship with many of her classmates. Carolyn went the University of Arkansas for two years and then finished her bachelor's degree at Oklahoma State University where she majored in interior design.

Upon her college graduation she worked for McCune Homes in Tulsa where she met her beloved husband, Butch. Later, she and Butch began a partnership in the housing market. Butch built the homes and Carolyn elegantly designed them, surpassing all expectations of their clientele. She concluded her distinguished career as a banker. Carolyn loved her life and family. She enjoyed going to flea markets, playing bridge, shopping and being with those she loved. Carolyn was a devout member of the Clinton Church of Christ and took great pride in her membership in the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bert E. Tucker (Butch) and a daughter-in-law, Amy Tucker.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Bret Tucker of Tulsa, Oklahoma, nieces and nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, several sorority sisters, and many friends.

Visitation will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Clinton Cemetery.

My Aunt Carolyn was one of the kindest, most generous women I've ever known. I have so many wonderful memories of her when I was little, and I enjoyed, even more getting to know her as an adult. She will be terribly missed.

I was heat-broken when I heard of Carolyn's passing. We always had a lot of fun playing bridge, I loved her stories about her adventures, and just in general. I was glad to learn she was from Clinton, asthat is where my Grandparents are from. I will miss her a lot!

I was privileged to be part of a close sisterhood with Carolyn Sue and a few "girls" graduates of CHS 1961, that endured to present day. Our resurrected, middle-aged "pajama parties" at Peggy Kincannon's retreat in Scotland strengthened those girlhood bonds, melding poignant memories of our relatively-innocent, youthful hi-jinks, to our our adult concerns and sensibilities. Carolyn was a born leader, a "scold" for truth and accuracy, exemplified by her sterling duty as basketball games statistician. Farewell, dear friend, and thanks for the joy you brought to our lives.
