Lucille Nora (Owens) Childress, 93 years young, born June 21, 1928 in Alabama, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021.
She was a devout Christian and a member of the Earthen Vessels Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Annie Griffin, husbands, Wheeler Owens and Doyle Childress, son Michael, daughter-in-law Thea, grandson David, and 12 siblings.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Wayne, James (Debbie), Charles (Roselle), sister Betty Chase, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild due next year.
Visitation is Friday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. and her funeral on Saturday at 2:00 P.M., both at Roller- Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Rd, Benton.
Pastor Elizabeth Witt will be officiating.
Lucille will be laid to rest at Rosemont Cemetery on Military Road, Benton.

My sweet sweet Lucy, I hope you know how much you impacted my life. There is definitely a place in my heart for you that will always be there. I’ll never forget you. I can hear you telling me now “you girls sure are gonna miss me when I’m gone†Yes Lucy, I sure do. I remember starting to work at CP almost 3 years ago now thinking, man, that lady sure is a drama Queen lol and then you quickly becoming my number 1. You will always be my number one.
