February 7, 1936 - October 21, 2021
Garland "Bokes" Rockwell, 85, of Humnoke, Arkansas died peacefully in his sleep October 21, 2021. He is survived by his children Rhonda Crawford of Lonoke, Reggie Rockwell of Humnoke, Becky (Steve) Ball of Carlisle and René Rockwell of Lonoke. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Joy.
Bokes was born in Humnoke to Jessie Clark and Jessie Mae (Meyers) Rockwell. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Farrell and William "Bill" Rockwell, sisters Rosie Carter, Dink Looney, Violet (Tobe) Jones, Dorothy Rose, Marie (Sis) Harrison, and Elaine Kimsey,
Bokes loved his family. He was a good man, a good husband and a good father. He was a man of few words, but he said what he meant, and he meant what he said. Bokes was a man of exceptional mechanical ability for his era. He had little formal education, but when you needed something fixed, you called Bokes. He could service your auto, your tractor, your combine. He was always there to help - because Joy told him too! He did it fast and he did it right. He gave 40 years of his life to the people in his community. He retired from Dean Henderson Case IH equipment company.
Bokes loved to hunt - deer, squirrel, frog. It didn't matter, it was food for his family. He didn't mind fishing as long as Joy scuttled the boat. It didn't matter what they were doing, as long as Bokes and Joy were together, they were happy and making good use of their time. They are now walking hand in hand in the presence of the Savior.
Bokes is also survived by sisters Louise (Pud) O'Neal of Jacksonville and Betty Underwood of Snake Island. Grandchildren include Brandon (Nicole) Crawford of Humnoke, Joshua Crawford of Louisiana, Leigh Hildebrand of Washington, DC, Chance (Bethany) Hildebrand of Geeridge, Slade (Alex) Hildebrand of Stuttgart, Ragan (Shawn) Bourdo of Little Rock, Casey (Charlie) Lamb of California, and Jennifer (Jeremy) Staton of Carlisle. He had 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. We will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 24 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Roller England Funeral Home (501) 842-3939. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 25 at 10:00 AM at Flynn Cemetery, Humnoke, Arkansas.

So sorry for your loss he was a wonderful man and great mentor.
I met Bokes at Dean Henderson I was a 19 yr old kid who Bokes took under his wing and taught me how to do things the right way. I always admired him. He also would get me in trouble with the boss because of working on a tractor when I was supposed to be doing something else. He will always have a place in my hart.ðŸ˜
Prayers for all. I know he and Joy are fishing and loving being back together all healed!
My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. Praying God will give you peace and comfort in your hearts, minds, and spirits.
