Michael Finley Porter, 74, of Bryant, Arkansas went to his heavenly home Friday, September 24, 2021, after a chronic illness. He was born February 20, 1947, to Beecher and Dorethy Porter in Antigo, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Beecher Finley Porter, and his grandson, Joshua Grant. He is survived by his mother, Dorethy Jene Porter and wife of 37 years, Sandra Kay Porter. Daughters: Cathie Grider (Audie), Denise Patrick (Jeff) and Sheri Green. Granddaughters: Erin Chism (Brad), Lindsey Landers (Josh) and Emma Orman (Gray). Great-grandchildren: Alexis Landers, Korben Landers, Cooper Chism, Collins Chism, Harper Landers and Cutter Chism. Siblings: Linda McCullough (Rene), James Porter (Kris), Judy Turner (Steve), Marilyn Tidrick (Tom), David Porter (Vicky), Becky Porter (John) and many special nieces and nephews.
Mike was a Chaplain's Assistant in the Vietnam War. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant, Arkansas where he was very active in his Sunday School Class. He retired from IBT after a 30-year career as Regional Sales Manager. After retirement he enjoyed a new venture in Construction Management. Mike was a man full of faith, love and integrity, and was very devoted to his family and friends. He referred to his loving wife as ''His Angel'' and treasured all their years together. Mike was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the entire VA staff for their care of Mike over the years. A special thank you is extended to the nurses and doctors in the Surgical ICU for their compassion and care to Mike and our family.
Services will be under the direction of Roller Drummond Funeral Home in Little Rock. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant, Arkansas. A Celebration of Live will follow at 2:00 p.m.
Mike, hired me and helped me get my start as an outside salesman many years ago, and I am grateful for what he saw in me, and my potential, many years have come and gone and I continue to this day as a salesman, breaking sales, records many times, he was my boss and really helped me start my career, he was, always a man of integrity, and dedicated to his profession, I will never forget him, God Bless his memory, and blessings and prayers for his family!
Mike was a good man and branch manager. He hired me in 1978 and I spent 43 years in power transmission industry thanks to Mike. Mike was alot fun and was very caring individual. I thank God for the opportunity to know Mike and work with him.

Our hearts will forever be sadden with the loss of our neighbor for 34 years. I could call Mike anytime to ask different questions and he always had an answer. He will be missed so much. My prayers, love and thoughts goes to Sandra and their sweet family. â¤ï¸ðŸ™

Mike was a good friend to us for many years and like a brother to Bruce. Bruce said he was the one that taught him how to drive. We loved you, Mike. Our prayers of comfort go out to Sandra and the family, Cathy and his mother, brothers and sisters.
