Larry Joe Johnston was born on June 10, 1944 and peacefully drew his last breath on September 20, 2021 at the age of 77 with his family near-by. Larry was born to Ray and Geraldine (Bramel) Johnston in Moro. Larry graduated high school in Wheatley and could be found on the court playing basketball. After graduation, Larry joined the US Navy and is a Vietnam Veteran.
While stationed in Portland, Maine, he met the love of his life Donna Rosalee Downs. The loving couple married on April 17, 1965 and for the next 56 years met all of life's ups and downs together. Larry was employed by UPS for twenty- five years spending all of his weekends in the woods either hunting or fishing with his boys. During retirement, he made many travels with the grandkids to visit Branson.
Preceding Larry in death are his parents, and his own special angel, Grandmother Annie Bramel. Remaining to remember him are his wife Donna Johnston of Lonoke. Sons, Brian (Leigh Ann) of Beebe, and Craig (Tammy) of Lonoke. Grandchildren: Jacob Johnston, Brianna (Sean) Elmgren, Hunter (Halie) Johnston and Gage Johnston. Also, three great- grand -children: Alexis and Ezekiel Elmgren and Thomas Johnston and an uncle: Earl Johnston of St. Louis, Missouri,
Services will be held at Birdseye National Cemetery in Cherry Valley at 2 pm, on Friday, September 24th. Memorials can be made to Special Olympics 2115 Main St North Little, AR 72114 You can send flowers to Roller England Funeral Home no later than Thursday. Larry's favorite flowers were daisies.
