Hershel A. Smith, 56, of Conway, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 11, 2021. He was born November 23, 1964 in Santa Anna, CA. Hershel was preceded in death by his grandfather, Quinton H. Spears and grandmother, Athlene Spears, grandfather, Lionel Smith, grandmother, Lois Smith and stepmother, Sandra Smith.
Hershel is survived by his parents, Donna Fay Hawkins and Lionel ''Pee Wee'' Smith, sons, Jacob Smith (Sebrina), Isaac Smith (Caitlyn), grandchildren, Jody Smith, Ciara Noel Smith, Levi Zane Smith, and Charis Jordyn Smith, brother, Sammy Smith, sisters, Nora Simpson (Jim), Marisia Geraci, and Robin Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
Hershel was of the Baptist faith and a self-employed carpenter and later was employed with Salter Construction for several years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting and fishing. Hershel also enjoyed doing carpenter work and wood working. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Hershel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday, July 14th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. A graveside service will be held at 10am Thursday at Bethlehem Cemetery in Greenbrier, with Bobby Gilmore officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Smith, Isaac Smith, Sammy Smith, John Wayne Lindsay, Tim Tyler, and Bobby Gilmore.
