of Conway, AR
November 30, 1931 - June 29, 2021
Lois Aileen Fowler-Smith, 89, of Greenbrier, went to be with her precious Lord and Savior on June 29, 2021, surrounded by her kids and grandkids. Born November 30, 1931, to the late Roy Oather and Ellen (DeBusk) Gaither, Lois was a faithful member of the Greenbrier Church of the Nazarene but also worshipped most of her life at Howard General Baptist Church, a church in which her parents, Roy Oather and Ellen Gaither, were charter members. Lois served the Lord every day of her life and loved her family incessantly.
Lois was a homemaker, seamstress, and awesome cook and retired from work in upholstery at Mel-Hart Boat Factory in Conway where she worked alongside her husband, Willard. She loved southern gospel music and being with her family. In her eyes, the best gospel singers were her kids and grandkids.
Lois was preceded in death by two sisters, Dean Kennedy (Raymond) and Arlene (James) Crafton-Rowlett; and one brother, Mack Gaither (Reva). She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Kenneth Smith, and the love of her life, Willard Fowler, to whom she was married for 42 years. Willard's humor and love of aggravating others were what made their life together so special.
Lois is survived by two brothers, Deon Gaither (Karen) of East End and Ellis Gaither of Greenbrier; two daughters, Paulette Hutchison (Greg) and Lenett Thrasher (Steve) of Greenbrier; four grandchildren, Taylor Burke (Cody) of Bryant; Parker Hutchison (MacKenzie), Hayden Thrasher (Elaina), and Hunter Thrasher (Melanie) from Greenbrier; and one great-grandson, Kohen Burke; and a host of other family members and church friends. She used her last breath on this earth telling her family how much she loved them and how proud she was of them. She described her vision of seeing all of them, those still alive and those who had passed, together in Heaven.
Visitation will be from 5:00-6:30PM Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Greenbrier Church of the Nazarene with Funeral Service following at 6:30PM. Burial will begin at 10:00AM Friday, July 2, 2021, at Center Point Cemetery in Quitman, Arkansas.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Greenbrier Nazarene Church School Outreach at PO BOX 188, Greenbrier, AR, 72058.

You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. So sorry for your loss.
I’m so sorry I didn’t make it for the visitation or funeral. When I found out today I thought about all the fun times we had. Your Mom was such a sweet and kind Christian person. Mrs. Lois made the best chocolate gravy and biscuits. She is rejoicing now in Heaven.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mom.
To all of Mrs. Lois’ families and loved ones, we wish we could’ve known her sooner and been closer to her. She always had a beaming smile from the Love of Jesus in her everyday life. Knowing her daughters, we can say we knew their Mom. So sorry for her passing, but rejoicing that she woke up to Beulah Land is a great blessing of comfort. All of you will be reunited with her again. We love you all, here for youâ¤ï¸
Thinking of you all and praying for peace and comfort.
We loved Ms Lois so very dearly and she will be so missed. She baked the most delicious Lemon Pie. So sorry for all the family but love and prayers to all. Love Fred and Dorothy
