of Quitman, AR
May 1, 1958 - March 22, 2021
Travis Delane Jones, age 62, went to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, March 22, 2021. He was born May 1, 1958, in Gary, Indiana to Chester and Wanda Jones.
Travis was a loving husband, father, and PaPa. While he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tending to cattle on his farm, his most cherished time was spent entertaining his six grandchildren. Growing up in a big family with 6 siblings, Travis was destined for the fun-filled, adventurous role of ''PaPa.'' Travis, after all, had lived a life of adventure, as his 40-year career in the oil industry had taken him all over the world. From a humble start as a Nemo Vista High School graduate in Center Ridge, AR, Travis worked his way up the ranks from roughneck to an oil drilling consultant on drill ships in the Gulf of Mexico and off the coasts of Brazil, Equatorial Guinea, and South Korea. Travis worked hard and sacrificed so much to take good care of his family. Of all the miles traveled, be it offshore or hauling cattle across the country, his favorite journey was coming home to Quitman, Arkansas to enjoy new adventures with his grandkids and family.
Travis is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Wanda Jones. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Jones; his daughters, Alicia (Jacob) Barnard and Julie (Sean) Maxwell and their mother, Vicki Johnson Jones; his grandchildren, Anna, Luke, Abby, Kate, and twins Sam and Sadie; his siblings, Wayne (Susan) Jones, Marilyn Jones, Brenda (Naman) Bizzell, Lita Jones, Rita Jones, and his twin sister, Jeris Ezell, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Bizzell, Jeremy Mount, Adam Jones, Jacob Barnard, Sean Maxwell, and Josh Baletine. The service will be officiated by Brother Kirk Hardy.
The family wishes to thank the Conway Regional Covid Unit for the special care given to Travis during his illness.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 9:00am, at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, 115 South Broadview St. Greenbrier, AR, 72058. Funeral services will follow visitation at 10:00am.
All attendees must provide and wear their own face masks, as well as practice social distancing when possible.
Burial will follow services at Cleburne County Memorial Gardens, 8701 Hwy 110 West, Heber Springs, AR, 72543.
A true gentlemen , I was a green driller down in Brazil back in 2009 , Travis was a great help in giving me confidence , he was knowledgeable , good fun and respectful. One of the best drilling guys I have ever worked with.
My condolences.
Travis was a great man to have met and worked with in the little time I had known him down working in Brazil. He was a friend to everyone, and a very knowledgeable man. It was a pleasure to have met him.

So sorry for you lose!! You n your family are in our thoughts and prayers!! Love you Gorgeous 💋
Only knew Travis for a short while but enjoyed conversations we had. His family was dear to his heart for sure. All he would talk about with the exception of his tractor. He loved his tractor.... He mentioned to me that he would like to take me abroad once the oilfield opened back up. I would have considered it if it would have happened. My family is praying for you and your family's comfort in this trying time. May God smile upon you and give you peace.
So sorry to hear about Travis. Prayers for his family, I know you will all miss him.
We are sending much love and prayers to all of you and are so very very sorry. He was so very kind and such a special person and will always be remembered and treasured and will be watching over each of you. May peace and comfort cover each of you! All our love, Sharon and Dee
I first met Travis offshore on one of the first floaters I ever set foot on, nearly 30 years ago. He has always set the example for faith, love of family, integrity and commitment. He will be deeply missed, and his family remains in my prayers. Take comfort in the fact that he is in a better place now, and look forward to day when you’re reunited.
So sorry for your loss. Travis was always smiling and happy and a very honest guy. Prayers to all the family.
Enjoyed our days and time in the oilfield working with you. We had a lot of good laughs. May you rest in piece.
I have not known Travis long, but his intellect, humor, and caring nature shined brightly from the beginning. Travis was easy to talk to and in good spirits no matter the situation. I will miss Travis and extend my condolences to his family that he spoke of frequently and joyfully.
One of the most generous, genuine, and happiest guy I ever met.
Rest In Peace brother.
I am sorry for your family's loss. Travis was such a great man to work with. He was a great source of wisdom, on the job and about life. He always had a smile to greet people and made anyone feel welcomed. The thing I remember most was how intelligent he was, he had a hidden intellect. Rest in peace Travis.
I was very fortunate to have met Travis over 30 years ago when we first started working together on the Zapata Lexington and worked together on other rigs over the years as well and was truly blessed to have him as a friend. Anyone who knew Travis would know he loved to talk, we spent many hours talking mostly about our families and our home life. I know Travis loved farming and raising cattle but he loved his family more than anything and the bigger his family got the more time he spent talking about them. I never met anyone who did not like Travis, he was a guy who could talk to anyone and make them feel like they had know him forever. I had some of the guys we worked with in Brazil contact me and said they had heard the sad news about Travis and wanted to pass their condolences along to the family. Travis will be missed by all who knew him.
The man upstairs blessed many a man on drilling rigs with Travis' good heart and big smile. Always kept his faith in Christ and his family in his conversations. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to laugh with him. I know he is rejoicing in heaven. Sorry for his loss and thank you to his family for sharing him with us in the oilfield.
He will be missed, sending prayers
Love

Travis was fun to work with, quick with a smile, and always was talking about his beloved family. He made a stressful job more tolerable, offered great advice to all those he mentored, and leaves a big hole in everyone's life. My life has been richer for knowing him and I look forward to the day I see his smile again before the throne of God.
So sorry for your loss

I only knew Travis for a short time but was immediately impressed with his professionalism and good humor. I know many people who had worked with Travis in the oilfield since his first days setting world drilling records for footage in a day, longest offshore horizontal well drilled and others at the time as recounted by folks in the last couple days. We will all miss him and extend our deepest condolences to family and friends.

After knowing and working with Travis for 29 years, I can honestly say that Travis was a great and true friend and was the hardest working, biggest hearted, most generous person that I've ever known. During this time, I saw tremendous sacrifice made and saw so much love exhibited for his children, grand children, wife and family. I was fortunate to have had Travis as my "back to back" on the rigs for over 12 years and I've never had a better one. On the professional side, Travis was always one of the very best at whatever position he filled. Travis was an original, with a personality as big as the Ozarks and I will miss him greatly. I can only imagine the huge hole that he has left in Arkansas for his family to try to fill. I pray that his family will gain comfort from knowing that his suffering is over and that Travis will be in heaven waiting for them when they get there. He surely earned a spot there and I bet he has reunited with his Mother and is already prepping his pasture for his new cattle herd! I'll miss you greatly old friend.
Deepest sympathy for you and your family. I hope that God will give you comfort and peace in your time of sorrow.

Praying for your family during your time of loss
I met Travis for the first time when I had his grand daughter in my preschool class. He surprised us with yummy donuts for each student. It was such a nice treat and I will never forget how sweet and kind he was. After that, every time I saw him at birthday parties or basketball games for his grandchildren, he always made time to speak to me and visit for a bit. He would always make me feel special because he is so kind hearted and took time to see how I was doing. Seeing him with his grand children was so sweet. His love for them was surly shown by the smile on his face when he held them and played with them. He will surly be missed. I praying for comfort and peach for the family.
