Mom (Lula Payne) and I send our most sincere sympathies. Peggy was someone we always had on our "visit" list when we were in Damascus. Mom knew the entire Brown family and I have memories of Peggy going back to the late 1950's. She was an elegant lady and will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her. We send prayers for Bill and the Brown family.

I have a very vivid memory from childhood of attending a wedding in the old First Baptist Church rock building in Damascus. It is the first wedding that I remember attending as a young girl. The church was packed and we were dressed in our Sunday best. The Bride was beautiful in her white gown and veil and the groom was handsome in his suit. Everyone was happy and there were flowers and a beautiful cake to eat. I still remember it to this day and how beautiful it was. It was years later and when I was an adult that I found out that it was Peggy and Bill's wedding that I was remembering.

I will miss Peggy and the smile she always seem to have. My sympathy to Bobby, Judy, Paul, and Keith and their families.

Our sympathy and prayers for your family. So sad to learn of the passing of Peggy. Knew her from high school and then in our retirement years we were fortune enough to share membership and attend meetings in two teacher related organizations--Delta Kappa Gamma and Van Buren County Retired Teachers. She was wonderful lady.

Peggy was a dear friend. We came to Hughes to teach the same year and ended up living together in the teacherage ,teaching together for many years, traveling together, and next door neighbors until she retired and moved back home to Damascus. I will miss her.

Peggy was in my (Sandra) high school class and went on to college with me and others in our class. Several years ago our class began having an annual reunion. Peggy and Bill were always there. Although we didn’t see each other a lot, we enjoyed those reunions!
We also spoke on the phone occasionally.
I am also glad to know that Peggy knew the Lord and is now celebrating with Him today.
Goodbye dear friend. I love you.
