Wanda Jo Staton, 82, of Mabelvale went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2021. Born Wanda Jo Cobb on December 31, 1938, in England, AR, she was the daughter of the late Larkie Lester Cobb and Floyse Ethel Goldman Cobb. She attended high school at England High School. Wanda married Tom Billy Staton on November 24, 1956. She was a member of Village Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Sysco. Wanda was a devoted wife and mother and always made sure that guests in her home, be it family or friends, were always made welcome. She was loving and generous to all who knew her. Wanda was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Cobb and Larkie Cobb.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband of 64 years, Tom Billy Staton; three sons and one daughter, Tony (Rosanna), Greg, Jeremy (Judy) and Tammy (Mike); nine grandchildren, Dustin, Jared, Landon, Jordan, Devin (Rosie), Taylor, Lacey, Meleah and Mallory (Jeff); 6 great-grandchildren, Everleigh, Skylar, Shiloh, Ross, Beckett and Boston; one sister, Nadine Hill (James),and sisters-in-law Jo Cobb and Billie Cobb as well as many other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held 2:30 P.M., Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 I 30, Little Rock, AR. Pastor Roy Matlock will be officiating. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home on Friday, February 5, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Mike Gross, Jared Staton, Randy Staton, Jon Staton, Gaylon Pearson and Rodney Pearson.
We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance to 50 people at one time. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Village Creek Baptist Church,13224 Sardis Road, Mabelvale, AR. 72103.
So sorry for your loss, Wanda was a very special friend who I loved working with at Sysco Foods. We had a lot of great times, so many good memories. A beautiful person inside & out.
Wanda Jo will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Always enjoyed getting to visit with her and Billy at the mini family reunions of the Cobb/Reeves families at Cracker Barrel. She was such a sweet caring cousin.
Tammy and Mike, your entire family is in our prayers as you remember your mother and celebrate her life.
She had to be a very special person because she sure raised a wonderful daughter! Love and prayers in the days to come.
