Melvin Gene Standridge, 77, of Greenbrier, was called Home on January 10, 2021. He was born October 20, 1943, in England, Arkansas, to the late Ralph and Daisy (Edwards) Standridge. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Melline Standridge and a grandson, Jacob Gene Standridge.

Melvin was known for his million-dollar smile. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, guns, fishing, cars, and sports. Melvin was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who enjoyed nothing more then spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Stella; sons, Edward Standridge and Steve Standridge; daughter, Olivia Standridge; stepdaughter, Tammy Lee; grandchildren, Andy, Nathan, Taylor, Tanner, Logan, Jordan, and Garrett; great-grandchildren, Ari, Bryar, and Novalee; brothers, Jimmy (Regina) Standridge and Larry (Joyce) Standridge; sisters, Cleva Riley and Diane (Norris) Parker, and a host of family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at 2:00pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Brother Michael West officiating.

Heaven gained one of the best men I’ve ever known, he was a kind gentle man, you never heard Uncle Melvin raise his voice cause he didn’t have to, everybody respected him. I loved him, he was so good to my grandparents- if they needed or wanted something Uncle Melvin would have for them the next day. Everybody that knew him loved him and will be missed by many, I will never forget you I promise

Melvin was a fine gentleman and good friend, we enjoyed him coming here for holiday meals and visits with my brother Jerry over the past several years.
