Sue Wallis Horton, age 92 of Baker, Arkansas passed from this life on Tuesday, July 21st, 2020 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. She was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on May 28th, 1928 to William Noah Wallis and Maude Mae Martin Wallis. Sue married Leonard Dewey Horton on March 22nd, 1947 and to this union was born three children.
Sue gave her life to the Lord at an early age and loved to sing the praises of her Savior with Leonard and her family. She was a member of Eastside Missionary Baptist Church. Sue was an exceptional cook and made the best peach cobbler in Searcy County. She loved to can and cook big meals for her family. She was very competitive and loved to win at everything she did, whether it was playing board games with her grandkids, fishing, or cheering on her beloved Razorbacks. Sue was a homemaker and worked for Area Agency for many years. After retiring, Sue spent most of her days working with Leonard in their garden or reeling in fish at Big Creek or Blanchard Springs.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Noah and Maude Wallis; her husband, Leonard Dewey Horton who passed away in 2017; one daughter, Debra Sue Barnett; and siblings, Dorsey Wallis, Blake Wallis, Daphne Richardson, Jacqueline Harness and Jimmie Carol Wallis.
Survivors include one daughter, Louella Mae Scroggins of Clinton; her son, Rodney Lynn Horton (Leisha) of Baker; six grandchildren, Letha Mae Hendrickson (Steve), Shelly Hooper (Jay), Ed Scroggins (Allison), John Thomas Barnett, Haley Yarbrough (Kyle) and Hattie Belle Grinder (Shane); six great-grandchildren, Hannah Rue Ragsdale, Sarah Grace Scroggins, Rachel Barnett, Gus Scroggins, Colt Yarbrough, Adley Scroggins, Lennie Belle Grinder, due in November and Benjamin Edward Scroggins, due in September; siblings, Wyeth Lee Wallis, Larry Douglas Wallis, Joe Wallis and Mary Rose Acre; and many other extended family who will mourn her passing.
Graveside services for Sue will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 23rd, 2020 at Red Hill Cemetery near Baker with Bro. David Wallis officiating. Special music will be performed by Sue's granddaughter, Hattie Belle Grinder. Pallbearers will be David Wallis, Shane Grinder, Kyle Yarbrough, Danny Wallis, Ed Scroggins and Gus Scroggins. Honorary Pallbearer will be Colt Yarbrough .
Roller-Coffman Funeral Home is complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines for COVID-19 and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance to 50 people at one time. We are practicing social distancing and have limited seating. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks before entering.

Aunt Sue was on my mind the past couple of days. She is a very special lady. I would tell her she was my favorite Aunt, to which there was always an answer that we both would get a good laugh from.
Aunt Sue will be missed for a short time. She has gone to her long home. Those who have hope in the resurrection will see her again.
