Capt. Shaw was my last Commanding Officer in Pleiku, Viet Nam. He was, without a doubt, the finest Officer and Commander I ever served under.
Saddened by reading about COL Shaw’s passing. Just found out. He was my mentor and friend. I had the honor of working for COL Shaw on three separate assignments. RIP COL Shaw. Great boss and friend.
My condolences to your beautiful family. I was Neoma and Bob's next door neighbor for most of my childhood and they were like grandparents to me. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Love, BoBo
Our deepest sympathy to the Shaw family for this great loss. We had the privilege and honor of serving together in the 2AD. We love this family. John will long be in our hearts and memories. Our prayers are with all of you at this time.
Saddened to hear that "Johnny Boy" has passed. Growing up in Buckner, Johnny and Nancy were like older brother and sister to me.
I'm deeply saddened by the passing of John. I worked with John as a retired military contractor, first in Saudi Arabia and then in Kuwait. I considered John a good friend and we shared many dinners together with a closed knit of friends. He was always upbeat and so warm and friendly. I admired him tremendously, and respected him deeply. RIP John
My Husband was borne and raised in Arkansas and met John Shaw in Laguna Landing, FL., as Condo neighbors. They struck up an instant friendship. John was such a wonderful and easy to know person.
We will miss him but are sure he has a place with the angels.
Please accept our heartfelt condolences and our prayers.
