Captain David D. Cummings Sr., 79, of Mount Pleasant, Mississippi went to heaven on June 14, 2017. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Peggy A. Cummings; one daughter Melinda Vickery (Philip), of Mt. Pleasant, Mississippi; two sons David Cummings Jr (Connie) of Barton, Mississippi and Gary Cummings (Kelly) of Conway, Arkansas.; Five grandchildren and Five Great-Grandchildren. He was a deacon and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Memphis Tennessee for 38 years. Mr. Cummings was also a veteran of the United States Navy and was U.S. Merchant Marine officer for 56 years.
