Mrs. Willow Dean Clausel

of Arlington, TN

April 17, 1930 - February 15, 2017

Willow Dean (Granny) Clausel (April 17, 1930 February 15, 2017)

After eighty-six years of Christian servitude, Granny was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. She was born Boonesville, MS and spent the majority of her childhood years around Proctor, Arkansas. Granny attended Hulbert West Memphis Public School until the eighth grade. With a short educational tenure behind her, Granny began working in the cotton fields and taking care of her younger siblings. Her early developed sense of responsibility and her desire to serve others led Granny into multiple professions of servitude. The most rewarding of these was being the manager of Café Lakeland. It was here that she touched the lives of thousands of people. During the last thirty years of her life, Granny would reside in Arlington, TN.
Granny was one of nine children born to the late Mattie and James Black. Granny will forever be remembered by: her devoted brothers and sisters- Kenneth, Larry, Peggy, and Laverne; her cherished children- Sharon, Gary, Penny, and Becky; her prized grandchildren- Barry, Stephanie, Gary Jr., Rose, April, Christina, James, and Daniel; her fifteen treasured great-grandchildren; one adored great, great-grandchild, and an unlimited amount of friends whom were blessed to know her.
Granny loved raising children, building puzzles, spending time with loved ones, and shelling pecans. On any given day, she could create a meal to remember or a story that could take the youngest of children back in time. At all times, she placed Christian servitude over herself and devoted her focus in the help and growth of those around her. Her character traits, beliefs, and actions were true representations of her Lord and Savior.

Granny touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity and maintained her trademark sense of humor throughout the last endeavors of her life. As she embarks on her next journey, friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, February 18th, 2017 (at 11:30 am) at Roller-Funeral Home (3651 Austin Peay, Memphis, TN 38128).
The family requests all monetary donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN in honor of Willow Dean Clausel.
