Charlie Y. McCollum, 96, of Collierville,TN, died June 1, 2015. He was born in Drummonds, TN, married for 67 years, was a veteran of World War 11 serving abroad the USS McDonough and a member of Collierville First Baptist Church.
Mr McCollum was predeceased by his wife, Anna Lee McCollum, and his sister, Marie Mallory. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Kitchen, and sons Terry McCollum and Rickie McCollum, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be noon, Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Collierville First Baptist Church with a 1:00 pm service following.
Burial will be in Memphis Memory Gardens.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude.

My Dad's best friend his entire life....he called him "Chalie" --- I can still hear him say it. He & my Dad talked to each other almost every day. We went fishing and on vacations together. My dad said Charlie was the smartest man he ever knew. He knew Charlie could resolve any problem & loved his WWII stories. Heaven got a great handiman yesterday. God bless.
