Derrel Bruce Thomas, 89, of Searcy, Arkansas passed away from this life on a beautiful Easter Sunday afternoon on April 20, 2025. He was born in Rose Bud, Arkansas on Monday, November 11, 1935, to the late Orville Ray and Trula Odean Cooper Thomas. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Eugene Verlon Thomas.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 67 years, Marietta Shaw Thomas; one son, Derrel Wade (Lisa Gail) Thomas and one daughter, Kelley Jean (Peter) Thomas-Dahl; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren along with other extended family and friends.

He grew up in Rose Bud and after a period of time his family moved to Visalia, California for work. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served our country for 8 years. He received an associate's degree from college and continued to work in the major telephone companies after his discharge from the service. Derrel was a Mason where he earned his 33rd Degree.

Services for Mr. Thomas are scheduled for Friday, April 25, 2025, with a Visitation to be held at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel from 10:00 â€" 11:00 AM followed by a Graveside service at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Cushman, Arkansas. All services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy.

We are all very sorry to hear about Uncle Derrel. He was a fine and fun man to know. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
