Glen Dale Parish

of Conway, AR

December 8, 1937 - April 21, 2025

Glen Dale Parish, 87, of Conway, Arkansas was born on December 8, 1937, in Damascus, Arkansas. He left this world to join his beloved wife, Mary Ann, and rest in the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 21, 2025. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Ann (Hiland) Parish; his parents, Richard Simpson Parish and Birdie Estelle (Herring) Parish, as well as three brothers, Doyne Parish, XL Parish and Doyle Parish. He leaves behind two daughters, Debi Hilton (husband, Frank) of Farmington, AR, and Robin Porter of Conway, AR; four grandchildren, Beth Freyaldenhoven (husband, Scott), James Archer (wife, Katie), Dakota Porter (wife, Stephane) and Sheridan Porter, as well as eight great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandson.

Glen was raised in the South Side Baptist Church until moving to Conway for college. He raised his family in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Conway and was head deacon there for many years. He is currently a member of Conway's First Baptist Church where he participated on a mission trip to Belize with the church family. He believed this to be one of the most precious memories of his life. He believed being a father was like being the shepherd of the family and he led by example, was a wonderful protector and provider, and gave to all his family what he first received and learned from God and His Word.

Glen graduated from South Side High School and attended Arkansas State Teachers College. He then began working for VIRCO Manufacturing Company in June 1958 and had a lifelong, successful career with the company. He retired as Vice President/General Manager in January 2007 but remained on the Board of Directors until 2011.

Through the years, Glen's life was devoted to spiritual commitment, family values and a strong work ethic. In his early years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and coaching the church softball and volleyball teams. He loved watching the Arkansas Razorbacks in any sport and the St. Louis Cardinals in baseball. Additionally, he was an avid golfer. He and Mary Ann formed close bonds and friendships from each of these areas of life and were blessed with travelling throughout the United States with good friends and family. These friends remained true and close for the entirety of his lifetime.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 6-8pm and the funeral will be Friday, April 25, 2025, starting at 10am at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Conway's First Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 1719 Robinson Avenue, Conway, AR 72034.

I worked with Glen at Virco from 1971 until 2005. He was my boss but also a great friend. He had such a great sense of humor.
Glen was a fair man and treated everyone nice and didn't matter if you were a janitor or head of corporate. He was just a good man.
Love and prayers for your family.
