Verlon Lee Harris, 91, a resident of Clarksville, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025 in Clarksville. He was born on September 14, 1933 at Ozone, Arkansas to the late Ernest and Effie (Perry) Harris.
Verlon was a member of the Church of Christ at Clarksville. He graduated from Clarksville High School in 1953. Verlon was a U.S. Army Veteran. He delivered propane and butane gas all over Johnson County and he worked in the oil fields drilling gas wells. He had a mobile service station and was also a poultry and cattle farmer. Verlon loved to go hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roy Harris, Claud Harris and Homer Harris; sisters, Penethia Williams, Hazel Sams and Dorthy Knuckles and one son, Ernest Lee Harris.
Those who are left to cherish the memories of Verlon are his wife of 68 years, Fay Harris; his daughter, Lisa Harris; a brother, Ernest Harris Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation arrangements are private under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home
Lisa and Mrs.Harris : i was sorry to hear that your dad and husband passed away. i enjoyed the times i talked and fished with him. He was a good man.

This is a very sad time , the loss of someone so dear is so very hard but you both have said it “ We will be OK” and you will ! Uncle Verlon was always so sweet and loving I am so glad I was able to bring Mom and Dad to visit the last few years , we will all miss him but we will see him again some day and what a joyous day that will be !

I SAT WITH VERLON ON AN AFTERNOON AND WENT THRU HIS PICTUR BOOK OF THE MANY FISH HE HAD CAUGHT. VERLON WAS MY UNCLEAND ONLY 9 YEARR OLDER. THE YEARS FLEW BY AND I DID NOT GET TO SSEE HIM MUCH...THAT SADDENS ME. VERLON REST IN PEACE.

I’m sure gonna miss him. He loved telling me fishing stories of him and grandpa. He looked forward to cookie Tuesday. Now he can fish again.

Verlon was a man of few words. We liked his dry sense of humor and friendlyness. He was a kind and helpful man. Will be missed by many.
