Ruby M. Halter of Conway, Arkansas passed away at the age of 90 surrounded by her loving family members on Monday, April 14, 2025. Ruby was born in West End, North Carolina on September 4, 1934, to Rora and Edna Kellis.
Ruby was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Anthony Halter; two sisters: LaRue Greene and Betty Fogleman; Four brothers: Earl Kellis, Max Kellis, Glenn Kellis, and Dallas Kellis.
Survivors include three daughters: JoAnn Corning (David), Patricia Shock (Woody), and Cynthia Gray all of Conway and her son Micheal Halter (Laura) of Cocoa Beach, Florida. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
Ruby was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church since moving to Conway following her marriage to Anthony in Pinehurst NC. She worked at First National Bank in Conway for over 20 years and was known for her wit, sense of humor, and creative pranks. She kept in contact with many co-workers, and they enjoyed the retelling of their memories together.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She set a great example for generations of her family. She will be remembered for her love of faith, family, flowers, and birds. She loved to bless her family with fresh vegetables that she and Anthony tended. She enjoyed having her family together for holiday gatherings as well as Anthony's fish frys. She will forever be remembered for her non-replicable delicious Thanksgiving dressing.
She will be greatly missed and warmly remembered by her family and friends. Her family will be comforted by the thought of Ruby and Anthony getting ready for spring planting in heaven.
A Rosary and visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the St. Joseph School Endowment, P.O. Box 72, Conway, AR 72033.
The Pallbearers will be Jeremy Gray, Sean Gray, Ethan Gray, Max Gray, Landon Gray, and Xander Gray.
It was a pleasure to help you Ruby. As well as Anthony. Y'all were some remarkable people. God bless you with everything and everyone in heaven.
I got to know Ruby when we worked together at First National Bank. She was so much fun to be around because of her wonderful sense of humor. I know she will be missed by all of her family and friends.
I will always cherish my friendship with Anthony and Ruby, we had so many laughs and good talks. Sending comfort to Ruby's Family she was very Loved.
