Juanita Godfrey

of Fayetteville, AR

January 7, 1924 - April 15, 2025

Juanita Godfrey, 101, passed away April 15, 2025, at Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, AR. Mrs. Juanita was a long-time resident of Harrison. She was born to Christopher Tabor and Martha (Sharp) Tabor on January 7, 1924, in Pyatt, Arkansas. She married James Godfrey, June 19, 1943, in Yuma, Arizona. Together, they raised 2 children.

She worked for Levi Industries in Harrison, was active in her church, and cherished her family.
Juanita, also known to many as Mamaw, she was loved by everyone, she treated everyone she knew as her own. She is a child of God and loves the Lord. She was very active in church and loved her outings with the ladies. Her extended life was a true gift from God, and some of that may be due to her faithful walks at the mall. Juanita loved her children and raised them well. Her home was always open and provided a safe haven for many. Mamaw was fun! The great-grandkids' favorite memories of her are playing football in the backyard and playing catch.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Godfrey, son, Michael Godfrey, daughter Brenda Jackson, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her grandsons James Jackson (Terri Plant), and Remington Godfrey (Lacey Godfrey), granddaughter Leighanna Godfrey, and two great-grandsons, Kemper and Theo Godfrey. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Mamaw will be greatly missed, but praise the Lord, we will see her again.

Visitation will be at Roller Christeson Funeral Home, Monday, April 21, 2025, 6:00-8:00 pm.
Services will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11:00 am.

I am so sorry for your loss. Juanita was a beautiful lady, a Godly woman and had a very sweet personality. I worked with her at Levi's and she was a very pleasant person to be with. I will never forget her sweet smile and words of encouragement. She is in a place today that we can only imagine how wonderful it really is. That will be a glad reunion day!!

to the immediate family. Jaunita was a sweet lady. She was half sister to my Grandpa Bill Sharp. Back in school Michael and I spent a lot of time together. He had a Mini Trail 50 Honda, I had a bicycle.
During the summer Jaunita and James both worked. They would scold me just like they would Mike.

If there is anything I can do please let me know. Loved them all.
