Mr. Cecil Chism, 70, of Norfork, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Cecil was born on October 30, 1954, in Culp, Arkansas, to the late Glen and Lena Jarlene (Branscum) Chism.
Cecil lived a life rich with adventure and love for the great outdoors. As a professional river guide, he shared his passion for nature with countless adventurers. He was also renowned as an avid hunter and trapper, mastering the art of capturing various furbearing critters, from raccoons to bobcats and beyond.
Nearly 50 years ago, Cecil married Donna, his beloved wife and lifelong companion. Together, they built a family rooted in love and respect. Cecil is survived by Donna and their three sons: Keith C. Chism of Briarcliff, AR; Stan Chism (Sandra) of Wasilla, AK; and Calvin Coy (Vicki) of Norfork, AR. His legacy continues through his 11 grandchildren: Trey, Maddex, Hunter, Nathalie, Tanner, Jaylah, Evelyn, Claire, Kaitlyn, Savannah, and Malori, as well as his three great-grandchildren: Ava, Lawson, and Asher. Cecil is also survived by his brother, Kennith Chism (Lisa); sisters Helen Woods (Joe), Connie Corter, and Lisa Stubbs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Lena Chism, and his brothers Paul Chism, Vernon Lee Chism, and Melvin Lee Chism.

Praying for all of you during this time. There's plenty of stories i remember of Cecil growing up. He loved his hunting and fishing for sure. I remember him being good at his cards, dominoes, teasing Donna by giving her a hard time and making her laugh a lot, and playing that Atari to beat Keith and Stan every time on high score lol. He enjoyed watching his boys playing basketball and baseball. You will not be forgotten.
