William Roy "Bill" Dickinson

November 14, 1946 - April 1, 2025

William Roy ''Bill'' Dickinson, 78, passed away on April 1, 2025, surrounded by his wife and kids. Born November 14, 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Bill lived a life of kindness and unwavering love for his family. To know Bill meant you had a friend for life.

He was a loving husband to Cathy Dickinson and a devoted father to Wesley Dickinson, his wife Ellie, Paige Brumley, and her husband Brandon. He also embraced his role as stepfather with warmth and love to Haley Fowler, her husband Michael, Candice Watson, and her husband Jon. Bill, known affectionately as Bepaw to his grandchildren, took pride in his grandchildren-Nicholas and William Dickinson; Kaylee and Tyler Brumley; Crafton and Campbell Fowler; and Gianna and Jude Watson-each of whom brought him immense joy.

Bill is remembered by his brother Ben (Terri) Dickinson and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who cherished their time with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette and Louis Dickinson, his sister, Louise Bland, and his granddaughter, Grace Dickinson.

Bill was generous and loving, never met a stranger, and always had a joke on hand. He was a wonderful husband, dad, and Bepaw whose presence enriched the lives of those around him. Bill's pride and joy were his kids and grandkids. He rarely missed a daily phone call with his kids which always included a story that may or may not have been true and many I love you's.

Bill spent many of his days traveling with Cathy around the world checking off items on his bucket list. When they weren't traveling Bill and Cathy were watching their horses run at Oaklawn or spending time with family and countless friends. No matter the season you could always find Bill calling those Hogs. Bill was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Cabot, where he deepened his faith and cherished the connections he made with everyone he knew. He was known as a man who listened intently, gave advice freely, and would be the first to meet any need.

Bill and his twin brother Ben are widely known and much loved as the 'Barbers to the Political and Business Leaders of Little Rock and Arkansas.' At Morrison's of Little Rock, located first in the 1515 building near the State Capitol, they served Governors, legislators and justices. Then for the past 53 years in the now Regions Bank building in downtown, they also served leading business, media and government executives. Morrison's was a place where you could find out what was happening, and Bill and Ben seemed to know everyone. They are the only known twin brothers in Arkansas to partner as barbers.

His legacy lives on through the countless memories of those who knew him best.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Roller Funeral Home on Chenal. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the same location.

The Dickinson's recently invited me to join them in the Winner's Circle when Their Horse Won at Oaklawn Park. Thus , I have a picture by which to always remember Bill and the kindness and consideration he and Cathy bestowed upon me. And the Laughs and Good Times of Their Win

Bill was so loved by so many. A great loss to not only his family but by many others. His love for all was unconditional. So precious friend, I know you are with Louise, your mom and dad and our Jesus. You're good! But it will take your sweet family a while for the pain to stop. Wesley, Paige, I love you both and know your pain. But you two can stand tall and proud of who this man was and still is.. Don't despair, Bill's just out of town and you two will see him again some day!!!

Harry and I are heartbroken to learn of Bill’s passing. What a terrific man, funny,, kind and genuinely loving. He cut Harry’s hair for over 35 years and most of the time, mine - this last time just before he went in for surgery. It is hard to express our love and appreciation for and of him and how much he is missed. Love to Ben and the whole family.

I’m so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. My parents were friends with Jeanette (Sister) and Louis. Jeanette was a second mother to me. I remember when Bill and Ben got a brand new convertible Corvair! Bill and Ben cut my hair when I worked downtown. Loved the whole family. Prayers for his family.

Bill mattered to so many people in his calling as a barber, as these comments so well confirm. It was in the way he related to his customers on a personal basis that made him a steady presence in our lives. His caring and willingness to help people also came through. He truly will be missed by so many, and my thoughts and prayers are with Ben, and with Wesley and Paige and Cathy.

Bill was, not only my barber for 35 + years, but my friend as well. A visit to his barber shop was more than a haircut. I will miss our conversations about Razorbacks sports and travelling. Bill will be missed by many customers and friends!

Bill cut my hair for over 25 years. Yet he was more than my barber, he was my friend.
You never knew who you were going to see at Morrison's or what you were going to hear.
The place was interesting and hilarious.
I just found out today from Ben that Bill had passed.
My sincere condolences to the family.
A life well-lived.

Bill was my friend and my barber for over 50 years. He started cutting my hair right out of high school. He was the most kind and giving person I have ever met. He was not only talented as a barber, he was even more talented as a conversationalist and knew a little bit about everything. If you wanted to know about politics or sports Bill was your man. My condolences go out to Ben and Bill’s family. Bill was a prince and a true gentleman, he will be sorely missed.

Bill was my friend for over 50 years. My ONLY barber was Bill (or Ben) Dickinson for this 50+ year period of time. I knew after my first visit that I had found “my barber”. Our visits always included the Hogs, fishing trips, the races, or “what’s going on around town”. At times, this could be the most interesting part. It is always hard to lose a friend and that is what Bill Dickinson was. RIP

Knew Bill for many years at Morrisons. Always enjoyed conversing with him and Ben. There were many closer barbers and barber shops, but meeting with them every few weeks was something I always looked forward to. I will miss you Bill, and it's not just because of the good haircuts.

When we moved here in 1985 at the
suggestion of my husband,Dan Kennett’s friend,Dan began getting
his hair cut by Bill.Over the years,
Bill became not just his barber,
but a good friend.Bill’s kindness
was immeasurable.The last time
I saw Bill was when he came up
our treacherous front steps in the
rain to cut Dan’s hair in our kitchen
when Dan could no longer make
it downtown.He always spoke
of his wife lovingly and was a joy
to be with.Much love to his family
at this great loss.
