Joe Carey

of McRae, AR

January 5, 1934 - April 4, 2025

Joe Carey, 91, of McRae, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 4, 2025. He was born in Cash, Arkansas on January 5, 1934 to the late Marlin and Grace Carey.

Joe was raised on a farm, and continued farming his entire life. He was an honest and hardworking man, and very proud of his work serving as auxiliary police for both Crittenden and St. Francis counties. He was a strong believer, trusting in God for guidance throughout his life. He served as a Deacon at Shell Lake Baptist Church and was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church. One of Joe's favorite places to be was outdoors. Whether it was fishing, camping, fixing machinery, working in the yard, or playing with his (not so tiny) dog Tiny, you could often find Joe outside working. Of all the things in Joe's life, the most important was family. He was a devoted husband and father, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his three brothers, Jack ''Stubb'', Archie, and Floyd; and three sisters, Pauline, Bernice, and Martha.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of over 70 years, Omiejean Carey; sons Joseph (Linda) Carey, and Brian Carey; daughter Donna Carey; grandchildren Samantha Wilson, Charity Huff, Hollie Berger, Jeremy Carey, and Jamie Mobley; great-grandchildren Skylar Berger, Cooper Berger, Grayson Huff, Addison Huff, Madison Mobley, Braxton Mobley, Charlee Wilson, and Bryley Carey; and sister Bobbie Sue Simms.

A visitation will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with services to follow at 11 am. Interment will take place at Weir Cemetery in McRae, Arkansas.
