Patricia Evelyn Hathaway

of Quitman, AR

December 20, 1949 - March 30, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Evelyn Hathaway, 75, of Quitman, Arkansas. She left her earthly life on Sunday, March 30, 2025, surrounded by love. She was born December 20, 1949 to James Edgar and Luttie Mae Firestone of Vilonia, Arkansas.

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 52 years, Walter Hathaway; her brother, James (Diane) Firestone; two nieces, Tina (Mark) McHenry, Jamie (Doug) Farley; two great-nieces, Lauren McHenry, Lily Farley; and dear friends, Don and Linda Avaritt, Larry and Vickie Reeves.

She cared deeply for her family, friends, and many animals who brought her joy over the years. Her love of learning and passion for reading were lifelong pursuits, and she found great joy in expanding her knowledge and sharing it with others.

To those who knew her, she was a source of kindness, wisdom, and warmth. Her unwavering love and dedication to those she held dear made her truly special. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She attended the Palarm Creek Church of Christ in Conway, Arkansas. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the church.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Crestlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at 10:00am. The Pallbearers will be Doug Farley, Mark McHenry, Larry Reeves, and Duane Kelley. Honorary Pallbearers are Jim Pearce, Howard Pearce, and Ronald Pearce.

Pat was a sweet Christian lady. We always welcomed and appreciated her thoughts and comments about the scriptures. We enjoyed several nice visits with her during the short time that we knew her. We were looking forward to meeting Pat and Walter again at David’s Burgers for lunch, one of her favorite places. We will miss her.

Pat was a dear friend during my 4 yrs at Vilonia High school. There were four of us who ran around together those four years, Jackie Turner, Gail , Pat and myself. I'm so sorry that I was never able to get to one of our reunions. Prayers for God's peace for her family.
