of Searcy, AR
August 12, 1957 - March 24, 2025
Tammy Jo (McChristian) Black, of Searcy, Arkansas went to rest with her Lord on March 24, 2025, at her home. Tammy was born on August 12, 1959, in Newport, Arkansas. She was raised in Beedville, Arkansas and would proudly tell people that is home and continued to do so for the next 65 years. She attended McCrory High School where she graduated in the class of 1977.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents and father, Billy Mac McChristian. She is survived by her mother Ellen McChristian of Conway; two sisters, Teresa (Milton) Huff of Conway and Gayle (Whit) Goodwin of Little Rock; her husband, Patrick Black; her children, Candi Williams of Des Arc, Mandi (Brent) Lassiter of Diaz and Jo-Pat (Taila) Black of Searcy along with her grandchildren, one step granddaughter and her great grandchildren along with other extended family members and many friends.
She was a member of the Church of Christ where after many years of hard work studying and standing on her beliefs, she became not only strong minded, faithful and dependable in every area of her church life. Tammy taught computer lab at Newport Junior High School for seven years and she would often say those were the best years of her life because she was able to spend more time with her kids. Tammy made friends with the teachers and visited with many of her students.
Tammy was born with a true warrior's heart but with a smile and laugh that would never meet a stranger. She saw the needs of others and was willing to help in any way possible. When you made a friend with Tammy, you had a friend for life. She enjoyed being a mother, a wife and a southern bell hostess known for her cooking and home decorating skills with the love of rabbits. She enjoyed supporting her family whether they were Greyhounds, Wildcats or Lions.
Her smile and laughter will outlive her warrior's heart for many years to come as today she is laughing and smiling with her grandmother Doodie and dad, Billy Mac as she loved to do as a child.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Interment will be held at Honey Hill Cemetery in Searcy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McCrory High School Class of 1977. All arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home of Searcy.
Tammy was a very gifted person. She was a pleasure to be around for the time that I had her as a member of my family. Deepest sympathy for her sisters and children. May God give you all His precious comfort and peace. Love and prayers. Uncle James and Aunt Jan
