Ruth West Wallis, age 93, of Springdale, Arkansas passed from this earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born in Searcy County, Arkansas on June 22, 1931 to George Washington West and Ruby Elizabeth House West. Ruth married the love of her life, Connie Gene Wallis on August 24, 1951. They were married for 56 years before Connie passed away in 2007. They raised their five children on the family farm at Baker, Arkansas.
Ruth became a Christian at an early age and was a member of Marshall Assembly of God Church until moving to Springdale in 2003 where she became a member of Springdale Assembly of God Church. She was very active in her faith and while attending Marshall Assembly of God Church, taught adult and youth Sunday School for several years. She had a deep love for the Lord and was dedicated to prayer and in reading and studying the Bible. She was Head Start teacher at Leslie Elementary School for many years. Later in life she helped Connie on the dairy farm and eventually took a job at Flintrock Shirt Factory in Marshall. Ruth had very close friends, from church and work, who met together to visit and pray. She was known for her sweet spirit, hard work and love and dedication to her family. She enjoyed sewing for her family until she couldn't. Cooking was her way of showing her love to everyone who sat at her table. Her lawn was always radiant with beautiful flowers. She was an ardent Razorback fan and talked about them on her last day on earth. But her absolute joy was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by a son, Rod of Springdale; three daughters, Gail Morton and husband, David of Fayetteville, Nancy Cummings and husband, Wayne of Russellville and Tonya McRoberts and husband, Jody of Spartanburg, South Carolina; daughter-in-law, Jan Wallis of Springdale; grandchildren, Brook Wallis Yarbrough and husband, Alan of Marshall, Kinley Wallis of Springdale, Clay Morton and wife, Lee of Fayetteville, Sarah Morton and Andy Hentz of Los Angeles, California, Darcy Morton Munoz and husband, Matt of Fayetteville, Landen Cummings and wife, Aubrey of Lowell, Nathaniel Cummings of Casper, Wyoming, Joshua McRoberts and wife, Tamara, Davin McRoberts and wife, Christina, Paje McRoberts Smith and husband, Joel all of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Hannah McRoberts Coward and husband, Daniel of Worcester, United Kingdom; great-grandchildren, Caden Wallis, Bella Yarbrough, D. L., Roe, Libby, Will and Grace Morton, Madeline Munoz, Konnor Cummings, Joslyn, Oona, Lakelynn, Hudson and Lucy McRoberts, Cole, Jillian, Beckham and Ledger Smith and Jason and Tilly Coward. A brother-in-law also survives her, Jerry Wallis and wife, Lena Faye of Mountain Home and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Connie Gene Wallis; a son, Randy Con Wallis; her parents, George and Ruby West; her sister, June West Horton and her brother, R.G. West.
Funeral services for Ruth will be 2:00 PM Friday, April 4, 2025 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Donnie Horton and Nathaniel Cummings officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 till 2:00 PM preceding the service. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery where Ruth will be laid to rest beside her husband, Connie Gene Wallis. Bearers will be Landen Cummings, Nathaniel Cummings, Caden Wallis, Clay Morton, Josh McRoberts and D.L. Morton.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Aunt Ruth always treated me as family. I’m so happy I got to spend many days with her. Her love for all her kids was so evident. She will be missed! I envision the reunion she is having with her loved ones who had gone before her. Prayers for all her family!
