Orpha Turney

of North Little Rock formerly of Witts Springs, AR

June 4, 1930 - March 21, 2025

Orpha Turney (Sullins), age 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2025 in Little Rock AR. Born to Vance and Delca Sullins on June 4, 1930 in Witts Springs AR.

Orpha was a loving and devoted wife to JA Turney. Their union produced one son, Thomas Eddie Turney.

A lifetime resident of the Witts Springs area, she loved her community and its residents with a passion. Orpha's joy came from her family, friends, farm, crochet, but most of all her love of God. She will be remembered for her soft demeanor, kind heart and ability to embody the word of Christ.

Orpha is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Gertha Jones, Rita Maxwell and Claude Sullins; her husband and son.

She is survived by her sister, Viva Huber; daughter in law, Sharon Turney; granddaughters, April Turney-Brucks (Kenny) and JaNan Straznicky (Steve); great-grandchildren, Nicole Fritts (Jared), Megan and Haley Brucks, Kingston and Stella Straznicky and great-great grandsons, Parker and Oliver Fritts, in whom her legacy will continue.

For our Memaw, everyone was family whether you just met her or had known her your whole life, she loved you.

Graveside services for Orpha will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Snowball Cemetery in Snowball, Arkansas with Bro. Steve Straznicky officiating.

I knew her from the factory days. Her work was always perfect. Glad I had the opportunity to have known her. She had a calming affect on everyone and always a smile. Prayers for the family.

So sorry to the family .......... I wanted to say that I am blessed that I knew Orpha from the 1972 area working at the shirt factory in Marshall. She was a side seamer for my friend. She always had a smile and was so kind hearted and soft speaking.
