My father, Otis, was a wonderful man. His faults were there, yet rare, and his Love always enveloped me. Thank you to All for your fond memories of him. I’m not sure if I’d be as good of a person as I am without Otis as my father. God bless you Otis. I imagine you are with the Cherubs, dancing and singing, completely vibing, in a continuous circle for and with Thee.

Otis and I sang in the choir together at Mabelvale High School and had several other classes together. I remember his deep bass voice in choir and his great math skills in math classes. I knew the Quattlebaum family from childhood because they were members of First Baptist Church in Mabelvale, where my dad, Paul Goodwin, was pastor in the late 1940s. I knew Donald and David also. I was glad to see Otis and talk with him a few minutes at the 60th reunion of the Mabelvale High School class of 1963. I did not realize that he had lived and worked at so many different locations in the nation. I had great respect and admiration for Otis and have thought of him many times over the years.
